Likely Suspects – 130912

Sponsored by “X album (temporary) ” and “Y album (temporary)”.

Recorded 8 Jazz Bass parts on the Tascam, using the Bass Pod XT.

Totally randomly, I came up with a rather nice overdriven bass tone – Burnel-esque, but more like NO MORE HEROES than BLACK AND WHITE. No matter, I’m a happy bunny.

Audio cleanup in AA3 and inserted into the relevant project file in CE5.

More tracking tomorrow, hopefully, unless Life gives me lemons, in which case, I’ll…oh, never mind…;-)

BTW, still haven’t fixed the Sennheiser headphones – I’m trying to find someone who actually knows what they’re doing with a soldering iron. In the meantime, I bought a cheapo pair of Technika cans from Tesco. They’ll do for the moment.

Eureka Diesel/Likely Suspects/The Moral Guardians Make A Housecall – 290812

Sponsored by “Top 25 Most Played”.

EUREKA DIESEL

Finally got to do audio cleanup on the 8 wah-wah parts in AA3 and inserted them into the relevant project file in CE5.

I’m probably going to stick with the 8th part – probably – I’ve imported all the other parts for safety sake.

Track finished for now. Time to move on to something new…

…which leads me neatly to…

LIKELY SUSPECTS

Programmed some rough beats in CE5. 120 bpm & 1/8T.  HALion One – RockSt 2. Will sound vaguely like PEACHES by The Stranglers. Or not…

…and then there was…

THE MORAL GUARDIANS MAKE A HOUSECALL

This is going to be a rather odd track – 130 bpm -3/4 time, although I expect I’ll be having fun with time signatures with this one. HALion One – Jazz Kit

All the above done with my iPod’s earphones – my venerable Sennheiser headphones are unwell. Thought it might be the solder at the jack plug, so I got a chap down town to re-solder the connection. But I suspect there may be a problem at the other end (or ends), which is a bit more serious. Must try and track down a serious hi-fi wallah…
